Wow back from the dead.... O well. I love my Hawk pads, never heard a sound from them. Maybe if the sally that started this thread took the 30 min it takes to install the pads himself and seat them he wouldnt of had problems.

Drove a members Evo today while tuning. HAWK HPS he purchased from us. No squeal, owner-installed and praised the low dust factor as it makes it easier to clean the wheels.

Mine are fine. Only had them about 1000 miles but there isnt any excessive noise. Brake dust is significantly better than stock brembos...no complaints here.

you embedded improperly and left chucks of brake coating on the rotors unevenly.

90% of the time, you can't go wrong with just bedding the pads and get warped rotors. So no, it's not common to warp rotors when bedding.

You just need to do it again. Did you bed using old rotors or did you get new rotors?

I had the same problem with my Hawk HPS pads. Well there is a little shim that goes in between the pad and the piston, well on a stock car there is a little "chunk" missing out of it so if you really don't know what you're doing its easy to throw away. But anyways, that shim, made my pads SILENT. i know girodisc sells those shims, and so does a few other vendors. i think they are like a 7$ part from the dealer

Im using the Hawk HPS pads front and rear for 2 years now.. installed myself followed the directions to the letter. No noise very quiet and very little dust. When i was doing one of the last hard stops i even had little puffs of yellow smoke coming from each front wheel. Dont know what it was.. but it looked cool!

I installed my own pads and no problems , minimal noise. Only once in a while do i hear squealing. Shoud have sprayed the back of the pads w/ brake quiet. Stuff works wonders.

I installed my Hawk HPS myself no squeeking at all, only when im turning into my drive way or something. I think the key is is to reuse your OEM shims and apply a lot of antisqueel stuff to the back of the pad before you install it. The car stops well and a lot less brake dust, will buy them again.

Sorry to kinda hijack the thread but, to the guys who reused the shims. Did you guys keep the shim that comes with the pads or peel them off? I took mines off.
