squishy brakes
Hi i just installed SS brake lines and i bled my system using a Motive Power Bleeder and ATE super blue. The brakes seem very squishy and i have to press down alot further to brake. Also if i pump my brakes when driving i dont have to press the brakes as far down to stop. Do I have air in my system? I followed the brake bleeding procedure on www.joe250.net and I am pretty sure i waited for all the bubbles to disapper before i closed the bleeder screw.
You still have air in your system or a leak.
You need to keep bleeding/flushing till the pedal is firm again.
Then when it is firm take the car out for a spin and in a safe place in a straight line apply the brakes to threshhold and then apply them again so ABS kicks in multiple times.
Afterwards you may even consider rebleeding. I had to do 3 full flushes on my R to get the air out after doing SS lines. I did the old school manual 2 person method as well as the Motive method. Motive is much easier for a do it yourselfer.
