Hi group,
I need an honest opinion. Do you think that gold Advan model 6 wheels would look good on a satellite silver evo 5? Do you think that maybe the pearl white ones are a better choice. I really don't care much about performance, weight of wheels, my main concern is looks. Although, I know these are pretty light already.

LOL...funny...I'm gonna try that one day...until then, the I'm gonna have to say stay away from gold and silver...your Evo ain't no jewelry shop! Go with white. It'll look better. Post a pic next time...them wheels was hard to find!
Claudius, was that supposed to be some sort of racist comment? What did you mean by painting myself black? OK, I get the 5 series BMW thing with 21" chrome rims as a way to sarcastically imply that the gold wheels, which you have posted on your wheels section, are ridiculous, but adding the "paint yourself black" at the end is kind of what we would say here in the US of A a racist remark! PLus you're french, knowing this you should automatically be aware of everything you say regarding people's cultural backgrounds and countries; I'm sure I can assume that most frenchmen are racist towards anyone/anything not french.
Sorry for having posted this topic, I guess my ignorance has surpassed itself here. For now on I'll just stay quiet, maybe I'll read people's posts every once in an while.

If you think a cliché of black people driving a chrome-wheeled BMW listening to loud music is a racist thing, you are free to think so, as you are free to think anything you like. You are free to think you should fit wheels on your car no matter what their weight is. Doesnt mean you're right about it though.
The only feeling of superiority I get is from watching peple in big SUVs, Jeeps and the like which cost more than my Evo, never from their skin color being different from mine.

I don't have a problem when people take the **** out of myself or my car. Germans are supertight and save money, Finns can't afford any cars and have some POS Ladas. You know, whether you like gold, white, grey or black wheels is a matter of personal taste. I was maily making fun of the fact that Jigga comes to Lancerforums to tell us he is not concerned about performance!
Personally, I like gold or white wheels on a blue car, dark grey on a silver car, white on a white, black or red car. I have got white wheels on my grey car, dont like the combination that much, but already like it better than the first day. It's kinda sporty, but still I think the colours are too close to each other, neither standing out nor melting into each other. The wheels should either be the same color as the car or stand out from the car's color, IMO. Like the examples I gave.
Well, I believe everything I've done so far was for the purposes of performance. My car ain't no TME, but it has every bit of performance yours does except for the gas shocks and S-AFC, I went with the PE re-map instead.
I know if I wanted performance out of my wheels I would go with a set of Volk TE37, better yet Compo, Team Dynamics, Racing Hart. Yet Advan are pretty light. Nevertheless, one's main concern when purchasing wheels for a non-tracked race car is how they'll look on your car, then the performance. I mean, tell me, will a wheel that's 1kg lighter than another give me some spectacular gains like 100HP or so. Otherwise, I don't have a 400+ HP car, nor intend on having my evo with this much HP. I'm happy with the results I get from it now; it's way faster than most of the things I encounter in the road today (m3, wrx, mr2, eclipses, etc.).
I thought that gold wheels, or bronze, would give me a rally look since I see alot of the rally cars with gold/bronze rims. I was simply asking for an opinion, a thought, not a debauchery contest.
I appoligize if I misunderstood you. You led me to believe that if I decide to put these rims on my car, then I should paint my self black, go with 20" rather than 18s, basically calling me a (ni**er). I have several black friends, one being my best friend for over 15 years, most which are real down to earth educated people, some that have helped me regardless of wheather or not they would see any return in the future. Thus, I'm really sensitive towards bigotry, prejudice, intolerance, bias, stereotypes, etc. It just really pisses me off! I myself am of Italian/hispanic descent, and I know how bad it is to be called a guido for having a camaro blasting disco music, or a spic for having a old *** corolla with ****ed up tints and a big toyota emblem decal on my rear windshield blasting a bolero or bachata.

Team Dynamics? Okay. Anyway, the Advans should weigh about 22lbs in that size which isn't light, but isn't really heavy either. That's still a lot of money to spend on cast wheels though. Since cost isn't an object, why not just get them custom done to whatever color you really want?
