Brake Fluid?

I am putting on new rotors and brake pads and brake lines this weekend, and I will need to bleed the brakes.

Does anyone have any suggestions on some store brand brake fluid that is good for our cars?

I am not looking for the high temp race fluid....cause I won't be tracking the car for at least another year. I just need to know what are some good regular brake fluid brands.

And what DOT it needs to be. I searched on the forums but mainly found only things about racing fluid.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

ATE is pretty good, and you dont have to replace them constantly.

Two words - owners manual.

DOT3 is stock. DOT4 is not much more (Motul 600) - $15 for 500ml - $30 for 1L.

I have heard that if you cross-drill your brake lines you get uber stopping power

Can you get it at any car part store (i.e. pep boys, wal mart, checkers, etc)?

If it's just for street use just pick up DOT3 or DOT4 of whatever you want...cheapest the best. As long as you bleed the brakes once a year it won't make a bit of difference.

Honestly....no idea. We probably have some on the shelf though. At home now, but feel free to give us a call tomorrow.

You can get Motul and ATE Super Blue from vendors on this site. I have no idea who has the cheapest price though...I'm currently using the Valvoline Synthetic -- supposedly better than dot 3 and dot 4 but who am I to say it is?? Works great for autox and daily driving.

When I get into more track time I'll be heading towards Motul.
