I thought it was 255/40. Also the Falken RT-215s are great tires! My friend had em on his Miata and i felt a huge difference with those over his old tires (Kumhos i think). Only thing is they dont last very long.

255 is as wide as you would probably go on the stock wheels. With the right wheel/offset you can run 285s. I run 275/35/18 with no problems.

Falken Azenis 615 or the Yoko Neovas from what I heard are near stock like but with better wear.

i replaced my stock advans with nitto's as soon as i bought my IX. and let me tell you the car has a much better ride now. i've run nitto on every vehicle i've ever owned. i believe nitto would be a good choice for anybody looking for a great tire for street/track use at an unbeatable price.

btw, for the stock rims a 255/40r17 is a good choice and really there's nothing wrong with staying with the stock 235/45r17 size either.

What Nitto's are you speaking of? Why would you not run the A046's? Its an awsome tire, but considering you replaced them "as soon as you bought the car" wouldnt know.

Since you're in Hawaii the Falken RT-615 would be a good tire choice, 255/40/17 works fine on the stock rims, although a 17x8.5 or 17x9 rim is recommended. The RT-615s are a good tire choice, good compromise tire for longevity, autocross and track.

Getting expensive 18s that are the same width as stock was not smart, especially for someone who has a GT35 and wants big tires. Now, because of the bigger rims that are the same width, you will be restricted to tires that aren't that wide when you need very wide tires for good street traction with 500+whp. Additionally, you said you wanted the best tire for daily driving and racing, but then you said you wanted it to last - well, you can't have your cake and eat it, too. You have to decide if you want the best tire or a tire that will last...
