10 piston big brake kit

dont know if u hardcore racing guys already know this, but Tar-Ox has a 10 piston 340mm front and 10 piston 340mm rear big brake kits for the evo. came acrossed them in italy. they got the endless design rotors, im not real fond of. fyi, daily exch rate varies from usually about... 1 euro buys $1.25-1.30.

Endless has a 12 pot caliper kits, but only for BMW's and it cost over 10g's. This kit looks pretty sweet, but I'm happy with the stock Brembo.

hmm.... the 4 pot brakes cause the ABS to kick in at the track... which means the limiting factor in braking is the tire adhesion to the ground. so if you make bigger brakes, you wont stop any faster.

plus even with 370ish whp and a 25 minute session in texas, after an entire day only in the last session did they start to overheat. and thats with no ducts, and the inner dust protector things still on. stock brakes kick ***.

Am I reading the chart correctly: it appears these will fit under 17" wheels. Also, the price for both front and rear would be ~$6200.

Regarding braking force and number of pistons: adding more pistons does not necessarily increase braking force. Total piston surface area affects braking force. The thing that adding more pistons will do is improve brake feel and the ability to modulate brake force. Also, I would be very surprised if you could engage your ABS on the stock brake system without any additional cooling after 15-20 minutes of very aggressive driving on the track. The brakes are very impressive for a $30k car, but they can and will fade with aggressive use on the track.

Overkill. Blingy, but overkill.

Anyone see the Volvo at SEMA with the caliper covering 180 degrees of the rotor? Fun stuff.

- Andrew

edit: overkill isn't even the right word. you would be faster with other kits for less money. or stock with good pads, fluid, ducts.
