Front Driver tire wear?

I currently have 7300 miles on the 06, tires have been rotated twice since the car has been brand new. Well today i had noticed severe inner tire wear on the drivers side, there is some on the front passenger what not even close to the drivers side.

Obviously it is out of alignment? the car is completely stock, I drive to and from work a total of 10 miles, no spirited driving to that degree?????? I know for a fact that i did not hit any potholes or bumpd it to any degree to knock it out of alighnment???? and i am a freak about keeping the tire pressure up....

I am taking it in for a rotation to the dealer, which i just had done at 5k and would like to know if this could be under a warranty issue? I feel like i am getting ripped off with tires that last 7300 miles!!!!

Do you think the dealer would be understanding and replace free of charge???

thanks in advance......

This is actually normal on all of the IX's... You need to have the car realigned asap, and i doubt they will cover it, but it doesnt hurt to try.

Question Bad allignment

It's good that I found your post. I was just about to post.. I have the same problem with my 06'IX. I just did my 2nd tire rotation with 5000 miles on my car and both of my inner treads on both of my front tires are pretty much beat. That is bull **** if that is not some kind of warranty issue. So they should have to eat up that cost of my 2 tires and fix the allignment as well.. I am going to the dealership where I bought my car sometime next week to see what comes out of it.. I will repost and let anyone else who has this same ****y problem.

On a quick not, Does someone have a suggestion on new tires? I donot need the ultra-high performance, but a good sport tire though for some weekend drives when posssible, all- season tire? Brand?

thanks J

the camber isn't the problem. Your toe is out. Camber sets "where" the tire will wear, toe determines "how bad" it will wear. I run -2 camber in the front all the time, and have very good tire life. I got 30k out of my last set of PS2 and scrapped them when I wore the outside shoulders off them. I run ZERO toe front and rear.

Alignment is off from the factory. My personal Evo was off 3/8* front and rear both. I drove 49 miles to my garage and aligned it myself and didnt have any problems after that. As a sort of FYI I align alot of new cars and they are all off from the factory, Mitsu or otherwise.

If your loosing wear inside then its camber.. Toe in and toe out with " o camber will cause wear that is uneven..

The Evo has lots of Neg camber to go around turns fast(better tire contact patch) the more you drive it straight the faster the insides will wear.

well, thanks guys!

I decided to go with 4 new Yokohama es 100s, 255/40/17

Alignment will be done tomorrow, that being said, I have 2 oem tires for sale, 7400 miles, have been rotated twice since the car was new, they look really good. I can post pics of them later, if anyone is interested, make me a reasonable offer, local pickup would be nice.. (bay area, CA)

thanks again
