Lug Stuck on broken Stud

As far as the studs being splined, I would hardly call it that. They are actually straight knurled and it is pretty much a press fit in to the hub.

If you can get it out without damaging the hub you probably wont need to replace it.

Im gonna try that when I can drive the car up to a tire shop, good thing my friend is the manager of one. I have to get the head lights finished and the bumper on first though.

Would you mind calling them to find out?? I would appreciate it alot.

I was thinking if I drilled it out from the front I may damage the wheel. But I guess if thats the only option I might as well do that myself instead of paying someone to do it.

Hey stevEVO8 how did you resolve this problem? I jsut ran into the SAME exact problem. I think im going to try to hack saw it off from behind before i make an effort to drill it out. Anyone else have to suggestions? Thanks

You are gonna have a hard time getting to the back of the stud. I tried everythng but in the end we ended up drilling them out.

We removed the brake and rotor by unbolting everything in the rear and then drilled them out.

Took less time this way believe it or not.

I was actually able to get a saw zaw blade between the wheel and hub. I just hit it with the impact gun for 2 minutes and it cut it right off. I was surprised how easy it was.
