brake light...

not sure if this is the right spot to post this, but here goes...... a couple times lately, usually when i'm driving kinda hard my brake light comes on, i only have about 23k miles on an 04 with a ssqv vta, act extreme clutch, and hks turbo timer type one (those are the only mods and i don't think they'd cause this)... i've kept up with every service and it happened when i launched last night, stayed on for about 5 minutes and turned off..... is this something i should get checked out, is this common, should i be worried???

My break light came on when my pads were worn out.

you're talking about the ebrake light right?

did you happen to connect any wires from your turbo time to the wire on the ebrake? when i installed my tt it had a wire that went to the ebrake wire under the console so the car would shut down if it was running on the tt and someone dropped the ebrake handle to drive away.

could that have come loose?

I had that same problem as well. Low brake fluid was the cause.

which was probably because your fluid was low.

Basic maintenance. Check all the fluids when you're under the hood adding brake fluid, because most likely, they're low.

i didn't wire it, the dealership did..... and yes, it's the ebrake light, and yes it's wired so that if the ebrake goes down the car shuts off, but if that came loose wouldn't that be much more obvious (i.e. wouldn't the light always be on, the turbo timer shut off would be erratic, etc)???
