My Yokohama Advan Neovas (180 wear rating) came with a warning sticker stating the tires should not be stored in temps lower than -14 F or else the rubber compound would be damaged. Driving on them in these single digit temps just kills them. The dealer warned me that the stock tires would likely chunk in temps lower than 40 F.
The stock tires are simply not safe for cold weather driving.

yea that just looks like a camber and toe issue... not like the tire fell apart or anything...

I would be happy you got 14k miles out of them. I only got 12k out of my stock AO-46s. This is perfectly normal for those tires. I also run the RT-615s now. At least they are cheaper to replace.

Don't bother trying RT-615s in the snow - bad idea. Getting all-seasons will suck for the handling of your Evo, so I would suggest only getting them on a spare set of rims. YOu need to keep a good set of tires for summer driving, otherwise the Evo really loses its edge.

I wonder if you keep you evo in a garage @ +40 F and then take it out to drive would that happen? Tires would only get warmer right. I have had no problems lately in VA as my 18" summer tires sit on the floor and I wait for the stockers to wear out so I can replace them with some all seasons.

Never heard of them.
Some have even recommended Bridgestone Potenzas at $135 per tire. I does seem though for a little more the Yokos S4's might be a good choice.
