Tein S-Tech spring problem

I installed the tein s-tech's on my 03' about a month ago, and i'm not sure if the springs are sitting right. The car has about a 2-3 inch gap between the fender and tire in the front. I've seen a few people with the s-techs on their cars, and they look considerably lower in the front(almost no gap). Do you think maybe the springs could be sitting wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Sean

it's impossible to get the fronts and rears backwards, but they do have to sit in properly for sure. There are notches in the perches for the ends of the springs to drop down into, you have to get that in the right spot on the top and bottom of all 4 springs.

If that is correct, then someone sold you the wrong springs. If you still have the box, check the part #. It should be "SKR84-AUB00"

I checked the part # on the box, and it matches the one you gave me. The springs are green and say tein right on them, so im pretty sure they are the right ones. Maybe i need to check if they are sitting in there correctly

If you jack the car up by the chassis and pull off the tires, you should be able to spin the springs without removing them. If the bottom perch is the problem, it'll be a relatively easy fix. The problem is the top perch rotates so you'll have to find a way to hold it still, and it's conveniently tucked up inside the top of the strut tower, so it'll be a b!tch.

My friend put a set of springs in his old evo and they weren't seated properly and they made a lot of noise when turning because they were actually rotation around the strut.

Do you hear any strange noises from the front of the car?

if you turn really hard, there will sometimes be some strange noises that werent there before i put the springs in. Did your friends car sit higher than it should when the springs werent seated properly?

i hope the teins you got are the real not knock offs that has been circulated around. Check the tein post, they should have a article regarding that.
