weird problem
ive had my evo for about 2 months now and i noticed that the inside of my stock tires are all worn out, the outside is fine but the inside is so worn the nylon thread is showing. has anyone had this problem before?
Thanks
Thanks
yes, the stock yokos wear fast alot of times.
my tires on both my evos were under inflated from the dealer. on my first evo it caused a very bad cupping issue and ruined both the front tires. i learned my lesson when i bought my second evo though and checked the tire pressure on the way home. once again, it was low.
now your issue most likely isn't caused by improper tire pressure. but the moral of my anecdote is to pay attention to those tires and check them often, or else they will go quickly.
but i am rambling sorry, i am kind of tired. let me get to the point.
the evo has a fairly aggressive alignment from the factory and will wear the inner edges pretty quick to begin with. that was one of the first things that was mentioned to me at my first local evo meet. watch the inside tire wear. some evo's are also a bit mis aligned from the factory also. my advice when you get new tires is to have your alignment checked, keep an eye on your tire pressure, and rotate your tires regularly.

and slow evo, i highly doubt warranty would cover that. i believe tires would be considered a wear item.
but hey, it is at least worth a phone call right?
my tires did the same thing and they tried to tell me that its because of the type of tires when all it really was was a bad alignment and then they charged me $260 to do that which i thought was a rediculous amount just to get a damn alignment

Also it doesn't hurt to make sure your tires are inflated to the correct pressures. Unfortunately tires are wear iteam and are not likely to be covered but you can still make a case with your dealership.
