You shouldn't. I'll bet you could even push 255/40/18's with stock fenders, pending offset of course.

Anyone know if this setup would rub on S-techs?

245/40's just arent that much bigger then stock. Actually the diameter is really close, since its coming from a 235/45/17 to a 245/40/18. Look it up on a tire calc.

Edit: Here is the calcs:

235/45/17 = 25.3 overall diameter
245/40/18 = 25.7 overall diameter

So very small increase in size. Actually the 255/35/18 would be a better choice, as well as wider, if you could fit it without rubbing. Thats the big question though. Next time I get new tires, Im going with 255's. I think it should be fine.

245/40 should be 21.86" and 235/45 is 21.16". I think that calculator rounds numbers off or something in the calc.

You can run 245s no problem with the +29 offset with just about any drop. S-Techs included. I personally plan to get some ADVANs as well but choose to run the 255/35 tires. They will rub a bit in back with a car load of people or hard driving from what everyone says. So I will be rolling the rears.

I researched the hell out of this over the last few months as I am saving up for some of these so trust me. Or search and see for yourself.

255/35 is my choice and depending on offset you shouldn't rub but you are very limited cause there aren't many affordable 255/35 tires...I wish they would make the RT615 in a 255/35.

Advan RS 18x9 +29 and a Re050A PP 245/40/17 lowered on Stechs. I assume the rear will have some slight rubbing?
