It's not about a fix, it's about vendors selling bogus product on the boards.

Actually, the blank spot that you are referring to is suppose to represent the same diameter and width of a rims with a different bolt pattern. i.e. it's a 18x8.5 rim with a 112 bp instead of 114.3 bp.

But yes, we're pretty much the only vendor that carries that fitment.

Francis@aspec
Francis. I think the easy way to ensure that these are not fake is to take pictures of the fitment labels and embossing on the rims that you receive. Rays typically has this on all their rims, and this is one of the reasons why.

isnt 112 a mercedes/audi/bmw bolt pattern? that blank space couldnt even fit an evo even if it did say 9. unless the 112 is a mistake. not calling you out or anything francis but i wouldnt choose the words "we forced rays to make these wheels in this size" considering rays is easily a much bigger corporation than yours. someone might take this the wrong way. perhaps "by ordering 30 sets of these rims before they were even released Rays knew there were serious buyers out there for this one particular combination of wheels and opted to make them available in this size exclusively to A Spec due to our status as being a prominent distributor of Evo specific wheels......." just my $.02

Anyone that doesnt understand what Francis is saying hasnt dealt with the Japanese very much. There is alot to be said for honor in business, and they prize honor very highly.

and 112mm is VW-Audi and Mercedes...BMW is 5-120 unless its an old 4 lug which is 4-100mm.

I'm not doubting Francis. I've had various talks with him and he seems like a very stand up guy. I'm just making a suggestion that will prove to people that 18x9s are real and do exist.

I dont doubt at all that A-Spec has these in 18x9. Basically you can order anything you want from Ray's in different colors. Hence some people carrying CE28N's in mag blue now. If you order it, they will make it. You just gotta wait. This is however an explanation from another vendor that also sells CE28N's in 18x9 Time Attack colors:

So no - they do not come from the Rays factory in Time Attack colors or stickers, but they are Genuine Rays / Volk wheels - just powder coated to Time Attack colors. Check out the 57F - that's how they actually turn out.
I know for a fact RE30's dont come in Time Attack, so that caught my eye. At least they are honest about it.

I have done this before on the previous batch of 18x9 +35 Time Attacks and when the new batch comes in, I'll definitely do it again.

Well, when I made that statement, what I meant was exactly what you stated above. Not that we "forced" them to make them. But, I hear what you're saying and I hope no one takes what I said the wrong way. So...point taken

You pretty much hit the nail on the head here. Mag blue has always been a special color option with the CE/TE...it's just that most people don't know that because Mackin would rather push the standard colors (which are usually bronze or white, etc). You can order them in orange, green, etc....just as long as that color exists somwhere in the Rays lineup. But ya, you just gotta wait.

Check this out...https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=253373

like you said...when you read the post....they said "time attack" COLOR... so which means..they are NOT the real time attack... they are just some blk volks that they painted the lip RED and it looked like the time attack....
