New Girodisc drilled/slotted rotors

Hi All,

You may have seen these posted already but I thought I would give the full scoop here. A while back a customer called us asking for a custom set of rotors that were drilled and slotted with red anodized hats. We talked a bit about the trade-offs in ultimate performance of the cross drilling vs slotted only for track work, and since he didn't intend on any track time, we decided to build these. They came out looking so damn nice I figured I'd post some pics here and offer them up as a "semi-custom" rotor set. We have set aside of few sets of unmachined rotors for those of you that are interested. The hat color can be just about anything under the sun, with the caveat that we can't promise a color match to anything. There is a slight premium for these as it takes longer to machine them and the custom colors cost us a bit more at the anodizer. Expect a 7-10 day lead time.

That said, what do you guys think? Any interest?

Martin

They look very, very nice. I, however, wouldn't want them cross drilled. Just slotted. Whats the price point on them?

Will you offer slotted w/ anodized top hats?

Any chance in have them say "Evolution IX" instead of VIII?

We can laser etch anything you want on there! We do offer these in standard slot with anodized hats. The pricing for our regular offering is $700/pr front and $750/pr rear. The extra drilling requires $50 per rotor and the custom anodize ranges from $50-$80. We manufacture all of our parts in house so if you have something really crazy you want to do for a show car or whatever, give us a call.

These are really nice looking rotors. When my stock Brembos are worn out I will seriously consider these.

BTW is cross drilling really only for the bling factor?

for those worried about cross drilling of Girodisc rotors, I have a set that was cross drilled by Girodisc. It's probably one of few, as they are special order.

While I was trying to work out another braking issue (not disc related), I went through about a 1/2 pads worth of wear in less than 2 weeks, boiled the brake fluid on several occasions, turned my calipers kidney red/purple, yet the discs themselves are still in perfect condition, with no signs of hairline cracks eminating from the cross drilling. I've tracked them once since then, no cracks, next event is next week.

I know the general concensus is don't cross drill except for the "bling" factor, and I agree with that mostly. But from what I put my Girodisc rotors through and they haven't cracked yet, I'd say they work!

My 993 TT Porsche has factory cross drilled rotors .. These cars are made to be road raced and I have not seen any cracking.. My last car was a Evo 8 with cross drilled rotors
two piece and I road raced them 5 times at high speed tracks and had
NO CRACKING.....
