+1 on a divider of some sorts - protection from something bigger.

Only problem with this idea, is that MANY of us don't run the stock undertray. After downpipes and FMIC upgrades etc - most leave it off.

Bravo!

I cannot believe that you posted this because I thought of doing the EXACT same thing during my first oil change the other day. I have always preferred the Porsche GT3's method which is pretty similar to what you have done, and after noticing the air guides in the splash guard, the 'light bulb' went off!

What I am going to do further is remove the dust shields and extend the ducting all the way to the rotor using the Forge kit and some more fabrication. A lot of people tend to forget that the dust shields do a good job preventing heat getting to the lower ball joints, so I will also fabricate a smaller shield just for that purpose.

Keep us informed this works out for you.

like nils said.. rotors cool from the inside out.. so while this may help a little in the overall ambient temps near the brakes.. nothing will help as much as funneling the air in to the center of the rotor and letting it go through the vanes on the inside.

Modding the mitsu air guides should help direct air out of this channel into the center of the rotor. I'll update with pics as soon as that is done.
