Exclamation how do you STORE tires?!!@!@!@!

hey guys,

i just bought some tires (rt615s) for my new wheels that are coming in but the tires came first and i just found out that the wheels are gonna come in 80-100 days.

im keeping my tires in my living room. how should i keep them?

right now i have them standing up.

am i supposed to put them on the side? and if i do, do i stack them?

thanks guys, i just dont want my tires to get messed up or warped because i kept them in place wrong for 100 days.

I just stack them on top of each other in my garage ... I really don't think you have to worry about them being warped

i was afraid that if i stack them the weight from the other 3 tires would do something to the tire on the bottom.

i've seen people stack them but they had the tires mounted already so im shooook

Put them on their side on top of each other in the garage or something.

It shouldnt matter I had tires in storage, but each were wrapped in bags and sold them 6 months later. Still in great condition.

upright in tire bags...
as long as it's not in standing water, or exposed to harsh elements, it should be fine.

^^there are special bags for tires to keep them at the right temperature. Especially with sticky tires like Azenis you want to make sure not to store them anywhere cold.

o boy some of these responses are just silly

you never store tires on the side wall big no no! you stand them up as if they were on the veh. there are a few reasons for that but a big one is it will make the tech who mounts them life hell... it takes alota work sometimes to seat the bead!

First you need to buy or build (your choice) a container that would be capable of having all of the air removed from it. After you pump out all the air, fill the chamber with nitrogen or your favorite alternative inert gas. Then make sure the temperature is perfect. Say 72 degrees F.

As far as stacking goes make sure they are not touching each anything. Including each other. This will be a difficult task so I recommend looking into some sort of superconducting levitation system. That will be difficult so make sure to post a write up of what you come up with.

Sorry about all that. Sarcasm aside, as long as they're inside, they'll be fine. Keep in mind tires are typically on a car for much longer than 100 days. They're pretty resilient, especially street tires.

You guys have no idea how tires are shipped, are stored in a warehouse, or stored at a store. Tires are designed for the harshest enviroment possible: supporting the weight of a vehicle at speed and trying to rid themselves of the heat generated as they roll.

Store em wherever there is room, dont worry about details.

stack them up in a close door garage should be fine, doesn't really need to wrap them up.
