Tire Wear

So i've had my Evo for about 9 months, 15,000 miles later this is what my tires look like.

Is this normal wear for 15k? Is my alignment out of wack? My car has never been to the track, the majority of those miles are commuting on the freeway.

check your alignment. Your toe might be off.
you have negative camber, which caused the inner tire side to wear.
Camber doesn't kill tires...toe does.
When you lower your car...it increases negative camber and throws off the toe.

These aren't no season rocks, 046's are soft sticky tires.

Flip them more often and they will last longer, but they'll never last 40k..

Plus, the Evo has some negative camber from the factory.

well i was never expecting to get a lot of wear out of them, i was mostly interested to see if that was normal how they wore. So is it even worth getting aligned if thats the way it is supposed to be.

Hey, dont feel bad my tires look the same way and I only have 9000 miles on my car. I rotate my tires every 3000 miles and checked the alignment with 1500 miles on the car which was also about the time when I noticed the funny wear on the tires but alignment was pretty close so I adjusted it perfect and guess what my tires still wore like yours. Now that they are that worn I wouldnt worry about getting it aligned untill you get new tires. I asked a couple of techs at my local mitsu dealer about the tire wear and they told me that they feather and wear funny due to the soft compound of the tire and the agressive factory alignment specs.

I only got about 9,000 out of my tires but that included a couple track days. 15,000 miles is about average for these tires. When you replace the tires, you should have an aligment just to check everything. At that point you can decide if you want them to adjust it for better tire wear but potentially not as good of handling.

That is the way they are supposed to wear if you are just daily driving it. If you are going to continue driving the way you do, a less aggressive alignment would be smart.
