robispec vs Muellerized
yeah, i did a while back. he just told me it was "race alignment" and that it was expected. i only found out about the toe after taking it to a local shop.
i didn't really ask him about fixing it because he is a traveling tuner, and he only can come by once in a while. i'm not bashing him at all, just sharing my fluke incident.

I had a very good experience with Robi. He fit me in on short notice, worked till late in the evening on my car, hosted me in his house when I asked for a hotel reference, reset the car several times until it was perfect, shared every setting and the theory behind them so I could utilize the suspension I bought, was available by phone about 20 hours per day, and showed me the capability of the suspension on his private subdivision "performance track" before I left. I had alot of parts and work done, but it wasn't rushed, and it was all done to my satisfaction. I like to watch and learn why something is being done, and Robi was happy to explain why he was doing things as the work progressed.
It's really important to some to be able to get a question answered quickly both before and after the sale. Robi excels in his availability, and in grasping what you're needing and getting it answered.
The pricing was fair, the work was meticulous, and the customer service was great. I can't recommend him more highly.

thats what my experiance was like, the pricing for me was great when you think of what is included plus his costomer service makes it worth it on its own, i have called him multiple times and he is always there to help
My car will be receiving the Robispec treatment tomorrow. I spent a few hours talking to him in person yesterday. +1 on great stories, and +1 again on how knowledgeable he is along with being available 20+hours a day via phone. cant wait to get the setup.
Just don't wear him out guys hehe. Some of us are still saving up for the treatment and we don't want him all burned out ha!
Imma have to bump this puppy back up because i have some question and I dont want to start a new thread.
How do muller and robispec compare today? It has been two years and muller has new stuff up its sleeve For example, the new skunk2 coilover that muller is now offering to the public. I was thinking of purchasing the muller JIC for 2g but then if i fork 5 more bills i would have the robispec kw coils. Geez i am in a dilemma.

personally I would not go with either JIC or skunk 2 lol, they havent had alot of time in the suspension building game nor focus in it.
hell knowing what I know now I probably would not have gone with the KWs but Robi is awesome and I am happy with my suspension set up.

I thought this was interesting...

I had robi install
-Kw variant 3's (race)
-Rear sway bar
- rolled and streched fenders
-front and rear camber plates
-rear anti bump
-reat trailing arm
-corner balance
- race alignment
To give complete fairness ive waited a couple months to give a report on all the stuff that ive had installed. After a couple months and alteast 10 hours worth of tofu runs i would have to say this has been one of the best mods i have purchased for the evo. Car handles night and day diffrecnce with this set up over my 8/9k JIC suspension that was on the car previously. Only thing that i can complain about is the noise from the springs i get any time i turn the wheel sharply. I think robi has peerfected the suspension on my car and has improved the way my car handles and feels on the street and canyon (not only does the car handle better it is also smoother on the streets and freeway; i dont feel like im killing my kidneys!)
Big ups to Robi

I have been working with John Mueller for about 3 years now as it relates to my suspension and some other special fab work. Muellerized does all of their own work on their race car, they fab, they build engines, they tune, and of course they specialize in suspension. Their litany of race wins shows a dedication and expertise that is second to none. I have met Robi a few times and he has always been pleasant so since I have no experience with him working on my suspension or car, this is is no way intended to intimate or suggest that he is bad or inferior to Mueller. I have several friends who track their cars regularly and of the ones that use Robi and his suspensions, most of them really like him.
The two things I like most about Mueller is his brutal honesty and his dedication to his customers. Mueller will NEVER tell you what you want to hear or install any parts on your car that will make it inferior, period. If you want him to install some springs so your car can look cool, he will politely tell you that he will not do any work to your car that will make it handle worse. He will tell you that he appreciates your business and that it would be best to have that aspect of your work order handled elsewhere. His dedication is incredible. He will not leave the shop until your car is complete and perfect. I have stayed there until 11pm at night while we talked and he adjusted my car until it was dialed in perfectly. When someone else screwed up my car, he handled it and provided direction on how to avoid the issue moving forward.
I finally went to the track for the first time this weekend and here is a brief excerpt from my review on John Mueller.
I went to my first track weekend this Saturday and Sunday (SOW) and wanted to thank a few people for making it happen:
John Mueller for too much to type. Sessions 1-4 on Saturday were on and off with an instructor, who, to his credit, was very good. John took it upon himself though to go get my car during an advanced session, drive over to the meeting room, rip me from my download meeting and take me for a spin in MY car on the track. All joking aside about “Hell Rides”, I learned more during this session than I did at any other time. Until someone this good shows you what your car can do, where the apex is, where the brake points is, how hard you can push, etc, you don’t really know what the car is capable of. My next two sessions were HUGE improvements over my prior ones as I pushed way harder in the areas I felt comfortable with. In some areas, I just don’t have the ***** yet to even attempt what John did, but I know what my car is capable of and John also had this opportunity to provide input on what minor adjustments my car needs to be faster.

Overall, there's nothing better than getting your suspension professionally setup. Whether it be Robi or Mueller or someone else that knows that they're doing. I could go on, but enough said.
Personally, I have spoken with both Robi and John Mueller - and several other guys that do Evo suspensions about setups. It really depends what you want and what you want to build for. If your contrained by a specific rule set, point system, DD the car, etc.
In my case over the winter, I was building for a specific class and was constrained by a points system (NASA TT). I wanted to fit into a specific class, so I know I needed to shed some parts here and there - and definitely wanted a new suspension setup. I do a LOT of stuff myself I think, but this was one area I wanted expert help in.
I spoke on the phone personally to Robi and Mueller about helping me out with a specific setup and helping to guide me through fine-tuning it. Being I'm in the midwest, they would not have their hands on the car, so we'd have to rely on email/phone conv. Both seemed willing to help out and I had lengthy calls with both.
In the end, Mueller's JIC setup fit me better. In terms of NASA's point system it allowed me more flexibility. Robi's KW's have an external cannister which cost additional 'points' in the NASA world. Muellerized JIC's are also probably the cheapest customized setup out there at $2k. In contract, Robi's KW race setup is $3500 once you add on everything needed to bolt it up (camber plates, etc).
Now if/when I'm ready to step up again - who will I call? Everyone again... But I'll call Mueller first about his Moton setup being he's helped me this far!
