Looking for suspension
Looking for suspension
Need some suggestions !! Im looking for a set of aftermarket suspensions but dont want to spend too much money on it. Planning to get the tein basic. Does anyone used that or any others ? Hope to hear some suggestions. thanks
There's a couple things you should ask yourself before going with a suspension setup....
1. How is you car going to be used? A new suspension for a daily driver wouldn't make much sense unless you're looking for something softer than stock; on the other hand a more adjustable suspension with higher spring rates would be useful if you're going to track the car.
2. Whats your exact budget? This will often limit your options and help to minimize the dilemma of trying to figure out which of the 100 brand names you should buy.
You can always contact Robi on the forums here...you will get good advice. Or you can just paruse the suspension forum for a while. Learn and you can make the decision for yourself.

Well...
Here's some info then taken from THIS thread:
Stock(USDM):..........180lbs(3.2k)....225lbs(4.0k) ......STOCK
Tein Basic:...............392lbs(7.0k).....336lbs(6.0K) ....Adjustable
So even with your Tien basics you'll have a bit of a higher spring rate. IF the adjustability is such that you can minimize the dampening to a softer rate than it shouldn't be noticeable. Call the manufacturer first.

Go for a set of Megan Racing Coilovers. There is a member here who can get them at a killer deal, I think maybe Zeus.
These coilovers are getting amazing reviews from eveyone who has them and they are not really expensive. (Springs & struts/shocks for less than $900)

Megan and K sport are pretty cheap...
Spring rates are very important when picking your coilovers, I know people who run autocross with 12k front 10k rear and its obviously going to be a rougher ride but the handling is unbelieveable so I duno you should just keep stock suspension if you want the softest....
