Replacement rotors...

The design philosophy behind the Tarox G88 Rotors is quite interesting :
"A High Performance disk with 40 2.5mm venting slots machined into the braking surface. This deglazes the pad and vents gasses that build up between disk and pad during braking. As a result, brake fade is significantly reduced. The slotted disk also dissipates heat more effectively, thus greatly reducing the risk of deformation, vibration or cracking of the disk at extreme operating temperatures.
These disks are ideal for competition use and anytime that high-speed motoring is practiced."
are they available for the rears too?
I warped the front discs doing some 'mountain work'
and I don't think these ones can endure more skimming!

perversity : you've got pm. Claudius o magestic one
... please consider stickying this thread.... we all know just how much the
rotors suck.

Jemm, here's some answers
1. How many laps did you do, whats the circuit like?
usually 12 minute sessions, lots of sharp 90 degree bends, a hairpin and a straight that allows for 90mph into a tight bend that really requires some serious stopping power.
2. Where did you get those brake cooling guides?
I got them from
sent you a PM with a good source.
3. Do the DS2500 pads make a big difference over stock?
Combined with the rotors the car stands on it's nose now. Much better braking, even from cold.
I got the rotors from www.amber-performance.co.uk ask for Jason and tell him the brit from the US that came in looking for evo 8 parts sent you. I wil be happy to send more info on the performance of these things as time goes on....

Here is an email from them re said product :
David,
The MIT4000 and MIT4001 rotors are made for us by (DBA) Disc Brakes Australia. They incorporate pillar vane technology increasing air flow through the disc by 20%. In additions they are heat treated to increase thermal stability and come with heat sensing paint to indicate disc temperatures.
We feel these are the best disc for the Evo VII and VIII on the market.
We also carry performance pads and Goodridge stainless steel brake lines.
Please feel free to call with any additional questions (866-275-1292)
Thank you,
Dan Ciganovich

the "hat" (center section of the rotor - or non braking part) is made up of a lightweight material, usually aluminum...
this does 2 things for you, saves unsprung weight, and allows you to swap the rotors without actually having to buy the whole rotor, you just buy the replacement part if ever needed...
and they look cool as hell too...

Here are the Endless racing version of the 24 slit rotors on their Porsche. Endless offers 3 kinds of rotors for the EVO, basic stock sized one piece, 24 slit and 2 piece racing. They also have kits with 4 or 6 piston calipers with rotors, lines, brackets.
Very nice
I am debating whether to get slotted rotors now, or to wait until carbon-ceramics are more available. I know Brembo is developing road-use CC discs/pads, but it's still not complete. If the equivalent of the Porsche PCCB comes out in a fitment for the Evo, I will be all over it. It's expensive up front, but they last the duration of the car with no fade and no heat-up requirement to function optimally.

no need to change calipers IMO... can you verify this for us...?
i think i found out who is making Pruven discs... ERADISPEED... if this is true, then i'll be all over them...
AHHH here we go again. That was put out by Endless USA because they don't have the 2pc rotors for sale yet. These are new. To hopefully put this to rest look in the middle of the sheet from the 03 Endless catalog part # ER611-RR FOR THE CT9A + the Japanese writing next to it says it is for the stock Brembo setup. There are more 2 pc rotors also from Zeal and Project Mu and outlaw japan ect.
