Hey all...
Im on a quest for reducing the rotating mass of the Evo substantially. I have been doing research and have found a lot of information on light wheels/rims. I cannot find a lot of information on light tires.
What are the lightest performance tires you guys know of or run?
I was thinking about staying with the stock size of 235/45/17 in order to put them on stock or MR rims. Let me know what the lightest ones you guys have found are. Its OK if its a different size though.
The stock Advans are 25 pounds each by the way!
Thanks!

I have stock size Michelin PS2s, which are 23 lbs. each. It's a lot cheaper to shave a couple pounds off your tires than it is your rims, and the weight savings is more valuable in the tires as well.
you could cut a lot more weight off of the stock wheels. the mr wheels still way a decent amount more than a number of aftermarket wheels. i know that the take off racing slicks are decently lighter than the street tires because i believe they dont run metal sidewalls in the tire plus the tread is much less. so if you got those with some lighter wheels that they will fit on then you will reduce unsprung weight. but thats if you are racing on the race track. i am guessing that drag radials also weight less for the same reason if you are into drag racing.

Those Goodyear's do seem to be the lightest at 22 pounds. Thats 3 pound saving per wheel
In the long run, its like saving 96 pounds of dead weight on the car! (3x4=12x8=96)
