Clean your wheels

Im wondering which product do you guys use to clean your wheels, brand. I need to clean mines, I know i need to use soft brush to get rust/dry mud of the wheels and it takes too much time and i bet there is something out there to make your life easier.

I use the Eagle One...all wheel and tire cleaner. The best I have used.
Will not hurt the finish, and works like a charm.

I use the Mr. Clean magic erasers, they work flawlessly on the brake dust and such.

simple green works great.
After you dry the rims apply some wax on it and you're done.

Wow, taking an abrasive to your rims. Ouch! Don't follow this method.

Here's the best:

Some of this: http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=11106

And one of these: http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=92546 ... the short handle one.

Lastly, but not leastly, one of these: http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=10209

And, if you want to go further, one of these: http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=15520 ... you can get just the round one for about $7-ish. Use it for the lug holes.

And, for drying ... http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=11081

That wheel cleaner, BTW, is approved by BBS. All this stuff is the best that I've found. No scratching will develop with all this stuff. You might pay a little more, but their detailing stuff is great. I don't use anything else.

Good luck on whatever you choose. Just don't ever use an abrasive, i.e., magic erasers.

And some of this for tar removal. Griot's used to sell it. It's great stuff. Doesn't harm paint at all. I removed a tough oil stain that, at first, seemed impossible to remove. This stuff took care of it.

If you need to use a lot of elbow grease, these disposable towels work best with this stuff: http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=55530 ... expensive, yes, but well worth it. They come from Holland. They're unlike any other disposable towel out there - gentle on paint. Great stuff.

Oh, yeah, if you get that solvent, be sure to use some gloves and be out in a well-ventilated area.

pricey but p21s gel wheel cleaner is perfect. imagine caked on brake dust over 3-4 years melting off after just a couple cleaning/rinsing sessions. go check on autopia.org (comprehensive detailers haven) and see for yourself.

christ, why cant anyone be more diligent and clean their wheels BEFORE brake dust bakes.... stay away from all these "cleaners"...

wax coat about twice a year, brake dust is removed with microfiber cloth and WATER + light soap solution...

+1 on waxing rims. More than brake dust settles on rims, though. Not all cleaners are bad. Any abrasive is, however.

DONT! get this stuff on your calipers it WILL strip your clear coat! I used meguires hot rims didnt rinse it all off and this stuff took the clear right off even better just take the time to use soap and water not dish soap either. i have since gotten my calipers replaced and will never waste money on wheel cleaner again.
