Suspension on SE

Im wondering does anybody own an SE ? I love this car but the suspension is bad. Its bouncy and drives like a lowered car with cut springs. My question is should i change the springs or the shocks or should i change both and go with a full coilover set up? Please help!

You will never eliminate all the bouncing with a performance spring. Swifts do a good job dampening the smooth road bounce and they will probably be more effective with the bilstien struts from the MR. Get Coilovers if you plan on doing quite a bit of autocrossing or track days. Good luck.

I would think that a full coilover set up would be just as bouncy, I can't say for sure. I put MR Bilsteins on my 03 and it made a very big difference, it's no Cadillac, but it better than the reg suspension. Hope this helped.

Suspension is bad? No offense, but maybe you got the wrong car, man.

Take the wheel off and see if the dealer forgot to take off the "bump stops" (not sure what the proper name is) they are inserted inside the springs when they get shipped.

There is a recent thread about someone rode with them in for over a year and bougth new suspension because he hated the bouncy ride and once he took the wheel off he noticed the dealer never took those things out.

None taken - just a good laugh at your expense. Anywho, if what xmaciek82x said isn't so, then I'd also recommend the MR Bilsteins. Here's a good set ... https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=269035 ... Here's another ... https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=269345 ... Good luck, sincerely. - Andy

Ideally, you'd get Ohlins fixed perch struts and Swift springs or our own upcoming springs.

To save money, get MR Bilsteins and Swifts/our springs.

Coilovers are not the answer for your case.

Tein H-tech

Get a set of Tein H-Tech lowering springs, your car will have a better stance, lowers the front around 1.2"-0.8 rear. Ride feels better and not as jarring on the highway, it's actually pleasent to drive. FYI....I have a 2006 EVO IX SE, with about 500 miles on it, drove it from the dealer in Chicago to Wisconsin, after the springs were put on, I drove back down and it's a night and day difference, really a great buy for the money.
