Question Uneven rear suspension?

Can anyone tell my why my rear suspension hieght would be uneven? The rear drivers side is about a half an inch to an inch lower than the rear passengers side. I only noticed this after I put on a set of 245X40 18s (which rub on the rear right and not on the rear left). I have an '03 evo with no suspension mods. Could one of my rear shocks be worn out and not the other?

THe only thing i can think of is, un-even surface (when you checked) , blown shock.

A blown shock doesn't affect ride height, only ride quality. Were you parked on a perfectly level surface? Did you bust out a tape measure when you saw the un-eveness or did you just kinda-shorta eyeball it?

Did you cut your springs?

even surface...and yes tape measure...about 3/4"

I am pretty sure that the rear strut is blown since I can induce play in the left rear by just pushing down on the left rear corner (not so on the right rear).

Guess that it is time to mod our of neccessity again

I see a set of Megans in my future.

i thought once my car was uneven when it was in my drive way.. but then i went ot the park and the other side was lower.. and i went to another play and they were even... so it could just be uneven surface... as for pushing down on the car.. the springs hold the car up... the shocks absorb the initial shock of a bump... but wutever floats ur boat...

Sounds like the struts gone--check to see if its "wet'" where the rod comes togteher with the tube--an oily residue...that will get you further down the road...

Perhaps one of the springs has settled more than another?

I admit when I am wrong....checked the height again on a different surface and the height was the same.... From here I am thinking that I am just going to roll/trim the fenders to allow a little more clearance for the tires I am running. Should take care of the rubbing in hard corners.

Thanks for the knowledgable responses....
