Hi guys
I have a question:
I purchased some new wheels for my ride (TE37 18X9.5 +35) and I need some advice on selecting the right tire. I want to go 255 X 35 X 18, but I am not sure which tire would give me the best ride. These tires will only be used for the summer months, so grip is important.

I will track the car a few times this summer, but mostly will be street driven.

Any advice would be helpfull

hmmm
grip and ride dont always go together
i used to run advan AO32Rs in the hard compound daily for summer use
but it wasnt a great ride and it was noisy as hell
i would drive pretty much weekends and then to and from the road course and then home again

 

What if I bumped up to these?

I think you are going to rub pretty hard with 265... the 255 you might also run but with the 35 offset you may get away with it...

 

I just bought the Falken FK452 255/35/18 for my new setup. I did a search on those tires and they had positive feedback on the forums.

You can't beat the grip of R compound tires... but they need to warm up.
Sidewall is what will ultimately determine the comfort...but most tires at 255/35/18 will be pretty stiff.

You can run 265's up front and 255 on the rears with your offset. You should be able to get away without any issues.
if any rubbing add slight negative camber. This will also give you stability in the turns.

265's are a bit much, you may want to stick with the 255 at most. Only know a few around here running that size though.

B-Stone RE-01R is the closest thing to a street comp tire you can get. Pure dry grip and steering response. Can be a little over kill if you're not beating the car every day...maybe you are I dunno The Yoko Advan Sport would also be a good choice. Similar grip but a little better life.

i didnt think you can run different tire sizes and not hurt the acd
different outside diameters front and rear
i dont know of anyone doing that on this forum
