TE's 18x9.5 +22

Hey Everyone,

So i purchased some TE37 black editions 18x9.5+22 for my car. I love a meaty tire look but I would like to do as little to the body as possible. What tire should I look to run? also what body mods would be needed with say a 255 or 265?

Thanks for any help!

Rear fenders rolled, maybe pulled. Fronts just rolled though they'll likely clear without rolling them

265/35 w/18 x 9.5 +22 is very aggressive but very doable

For proper rear wheel fender clearance you will have to pull the rears. This is based on running stockish camber

You will have to re-locate the rear bumper cover bolt. Take your flash light & look into the rear well & look aft. You will see the bumper bolt. That connection as to move aft for proper clearance

The front fenders, being alum, are very tough to roll. A lot of metal memory in alum. I would leave the front roll alone for the time being. Maybe the fender extender if you dont mind that look

What about maybe a 255 tire? and some camber. Mainly Im trying to just avoid pulling the rears. Pulled fenders look horrid

Thats a big negative there Mr. Pounder I come from a track background so adding camber to make wheels fit is a no no. The wheel must be able to articulate fully in the wheel well w/out contact. Heres my go to pic showing the rear strut removed & the RSB disconnected running stockish camber (that pic is the roll, big pull, bumper bolt & a couple of other tricks to get those to fit)

If you dont like the pull I would steer clear of the +22. There are some that will say, run a stretched tire & roll in some serious out of aggressive spec camber & all will be OK.

I dont track my car and I have always run Camber. I know people on this forum hate that or whatever but sometimes its necessary. Do you have any pics of your fenders from behind the car to show the pull?

Heres an pic but doesnt really show too much. The pull is evident at certain light angles. Dont think you can get away from pulling the fender w/out some slight deviations. The fenders are certainly not butchered but to a detailed car guy, you can tell the fenders have been worked (its all part of the game if you want to run the lower offset & wide tire)

As noted, my opinion was based on a zero rub scenario. Some other view points will recommend the stretched tire & out of spec camber to get things to fit. You always see the postings noting, well it only rubs on hard hits or when I have a rear passenger

GL on your project
