why do my front brakes squeek?
why do my front brakes squeek?
recently i had my 2 front rotors resurfaced and installed along with brake pads from ams carbon metalics
and everytime i brake they squeek? whats wrong?

Because you drive an Evo your brakes squeal. There are those who say that if you slather every metal to metal contact on the brakes with Permatex ultra copper it'll help, but just pretend that they're racing brakes, and intended to sound like that.
(My fronts squeal too, I don't like it either, but I'm trying to convince myself they're supposed to sound like that.)

racing pads will always squeek. its normal until they're warmed up, they tend to shut up sometimes. But yes its normal to a certain extent...if they squeel BAD every time u tap the brakes, they might need some more of that anti squeel stuff, but you will always have some squeel

To add some constructive thoughts here. The original factory pads never squeaked for me, and I have a 15 mile commute with 5 stop signs and 14 traffic lights. Needless to say, I went through a set of pads at 19k miles. I just installed some Hawk HPS pads and did not turn or resurface my rotors. They squeaked loudly sometimes, and softly at others (I could not hear them until I had the window down). I just installed the rubber-backed shims from Girodisc and they seem to help quite a bit.
my hawks never squeak. haven't since i bed them in. i used permatex synthetic brake grease for the pad backing, don't know if that helped or not. i just know mine never squeak except sometimes stopping in reverse.
....Disclaimer..................
Brake pads should NEVER squeak!
Yes different compound brakes make more noise during braking but squeaking is a sign of poor installation.
Think about it guys, sound is vibration. A squeak is a high frequency vibration of metal on metal. Mostly this is cause by the back of the pad vibrating against the caliper piston. This vibration is normal with perfect rotors, but is even worse with rotors that have poor surfaces. Regardless any squeaking can be eliminated by adding a vibration absorbing compound on the back of the brake pads.
You can find this spray on compound at any auto parts store. Obviously whoever installed your pads didn't use this compound.
Any other access vibration sound, outside of the normal braking sound can indicate loose parts.

But soo far Brakes are FINE AND DANDY!!! I love my BREMBOS even if they squeak!! i work at LAND-ROVER and im pretty sure i install my Brakes properly cuz them LR Superchargers use brembos as well and i change brakes/rotors every week(gravy work).. soo i say squeaks are normal thats my $.02cents

sure brake pads will make noise... a full out race pad is expected to make noise until up to operating temp. a stock pad is expected to be quiet at all times but has low limits... everything else will fall somewhere inbetween.
my HPS were pretty quiet
my HP+ liked to make noise under slight braking but were quiet when on them hard or when they were warm.
my HT-10 are getting installed next week and should be brutal.
I would recommend using the brake quiet stuff for the back of the pads.
Also make sure you bed your pads in correctly.
outside of that if it bothers then go buy a civic and stop whining about the evo being a race car.

1. Make sure you have street pads installed. Eg: Hawk HPS, Carbotech Bobcats
2. Re-install all the factory brake shims/plates (or you can purchase new Girodisc quiet shims).
3. Make sure to use some anti-squeel lube between the pads and shims/plates
4. Bed in your brakes.
