Best Street use Coilover?
Best Street use Coilover?
I am looking for a new street use coilover for my IX.
I need comfortable coilover because our roads are not very good.
I can give 2000-2300 for it.
which coilover is the best in this situation?

I've been riding on the Megan Track Coilvers for a few weeks now, and I thin they're great on the street! Out of the 32 "clicks" of dampener stiffness I ride on 26 front and 22 rear (from full soft) and it feels the same as the stock struts only a little more compliant with midsize road bumps, and MUCH less body roll.
The KW Variant 3 is an excellent street/track coilover. The ride quality is very good and they offer a wide range of adjustability as well. However, if your car is solely driven on the street, you may be better off with upgraded struts and springs. The Ohlins fixed perch with our upcoming springs would be an excellent setup for a daily driver, and it would be a big improvement over stock in both handling and ride quality.

Not trying to cause trouble, just asking a question...I remember seeing some bent KW-3's on here somewhere...I think the picture was posted by Zzyzxx Motorsports. Have you heard of any failure problems with the KW's?
I've never heard about that kind of failure with the KWs. Was the shaft bent or the entire body? The only thing like that I've seen was a couple years back when a guy snapped a JIC coilover clean in half during an auto-x. The KWs do have a lifetime warrantee against defects so I wouldn't worry.

I'm pretty sure it was a tein flex. The lower brackets peeled themselves off the strut body.

Best street use coilovers, IMHO would be Bilstein PSS9. KW V3 and Ohlins Sportline are also good but the PSS9s will be softer and more comfortable on the street. I've had the opportunity to ride on EVOs with KW V3s, KW competition spec and Bilsteins PSS9s. The Bilsteins are 1 way adjustable monotube with 9 settings and had fixed perch height adjustment. Cost is about $1600-$1700. Or you could consider going with EVO MR bilstein shocks with Swift MR springs.
thanks for the answers dudes.
i already have bilstein shocks with eibach springs and it makes some ugly noises.
performance isn't good enough for me.
somebody says "don't change your shocks. bilsteins are good enough for daily/performance use. just use them with tanabe springs"
I don't know what should i do.i'm confused
i need some advice for the bilstein shock + spring option.
Thanks.

Hey mate I got hotbits dt1's and its wicked suspension and real comfortable i have them at full soft at the minute and i took the car for a rip on a local backroad which is very bumpy and lots of hills and the car handled great really absorbed the bumps way more comfy than the bilsteins i used to have and they can be hardend right up for a track day if needed.
The main thing is to get a setup where the dampers are matched to the spring rate. With the bilsteins I think a lot of folks are running the tanabe or swift springs.
With springs though you have no option to adjust ride height and or damper setting (unless you replace the shocks as well with some adjustables).
Personally, I did not want to chance it so I went the KW V3's
