coilovers. doing it once, want to do it right, would like advice.
trying to make an intelligent decision between KW V3, KW clubsports, or a coilover that you recommend. below are the criterion, in order of precedence.
1. durability. i want the buy-it-once-and-forget-it suspension. OEM quality and durability. something that, at 7+ years old, is still sorted and useful and isn't going to care if it has a few NE winters (salt).
2. bump compliance. which of these do you think handle bumpy track, bumpy roads the best? i do track the car, but i dont want a one-hit wonder and want it to be highly competent at as many situations as possible.
3. ride. i hear the clubsports can ride quite similarly to an MR. is that true?
i've already seen the results on these set-ups on track performance, so the V3 is the minimum track performance improvement that i'm willing to accept.
in part, i'm asking whether the additional expense between the two is worthwhile. the other part - is the additional performance offered by the clubsports worth the potential trade off in harsher impact wear and tear on the chassis and the other systems on the car? like i said earlier, durability and OEM-like quality are what i'm after if i had to have only one thing.

I think I may have spoken to you on the phone the other day...for all of the criteria you listed it seems to me that your best option is the KW's with our custom spring rates. Because they are a full stainless steel body they are very resilient to rust and corrosion. Their valving is also very good for bumpy tracks and daily driving over less than perfect roads. The Clubsports are more track-oriented, which means more aggressive valving and likely more frequent rebuilds, but they are sort of a compromise between the Variant 3 and the Competitions.
For your needs, I think the V3 with our spring rates would be an ideal solution. It gives you all of the adjustability and comfort you need, while still being very capable on the track. All of KW's products are full stainless and the build quality is great so either way durability isn't an issue.
