I have the Falken Azenis RT 245-40-18 on 18x9 wheels....and they work great.....depending on your drop you might still need to roll your rear fenders...I have the ROTA SVN and have to roll my rear fenders on my current height with my coilovers....stock suspension you should be fine......I am not sure about the 255-35-18 sizes....someone else chime in....any rubbing?

Ultimately ...... IMO .... wider is better.....(but that all depends on your suspension setup!!)
