Cost of SS lines, fluid, pads, and installation?

Hey guys, im going to be tracking my car on jul 2nd at the AMS trtack day and i want to upgrade my brakes. Im probably going to get Hawk HPS(you think these are strong enough?) or Ferodo 2500s, but i have no idea on what lines or fluid to put in.

How much do you think a fair price is for all of these plus installastion? I want to have a rough estimate before i call some shops to have the work done.

sorry for being a newb. It's my first track day, and i just want to be prepared.

If you're on a budget, you don't need SS lines. Are these going to be track only pads? If so, go with something more aggressive than the D2500s because they may not hold up on track.

The standard fluid that most people use is Motul RBF600. Doing the pad install yourself is quite easy. I just did the pads last week. You'll want a nail and a hammer to hit out the pins that hold the spring that hold the pads in though.

thanks, and i want something that will work fine on the street and track since this car is primarily a street car. I just wanted to try out a track day so i can learn some things and push the Evo in a safe environment.

SS lines $100-$200
Front and rear pads $180-$400
RBF600 $18 x 3

Labor $free-$400

I would personally say to go with something a little better than the HPS for a track day like the Ferodo DS2500 or Hawk HP+. Here are what these packages would run you from us:

SS Lines, Front & Rear HPS Brake Pads, & 3 Bottles of Motul- $310
SS Lines, Front & Rear HP+ Brake Pads, & 3 Bottles of Motul- $370

Let me know if you need a helmet, too, and I can bundle one in

I am going to borrow my brothers Bell M2 racer series helmet for the event. Also I heard the HP+ pads are horrible for daily driving because the make a lot of noise. I heard the Ferodos were better in this respect, but just as strong. Hmm, so lets say I buy your package for $310, how much would it cost to put everything on the car?

Ah, that's true the HP+ will be noisy. I thought that these would solely be for a track day and no daily driving. I'm sorry, I misread the post! I'm going to PM you now and shoot you more prices. As far as installation goes, I wouldn't be able to give you an accurate quote on that since I don't do installs

Lines, pads, and fluid change should be no more than a two hour job (even if the tech is slow). 2 hours x labor ($75/hour seems about average)=$150.

I just put on DS2500 pads all around on my car. I also have the intention of tracking them, but from everything I've read, they are marginal... So I'm waiting for cooler weather in October/November before I go. I also have the Mistu front brake air cooling guides that bolt to the control arms. So the cooler weather, brake cooling, and I'm generally pretty easy on brakes... I'm hoping they'll hold up.

I would highly suggest at least doing the pads yourself. It's really a cake walk. Then maybe have a shop do the lines, fluid, bleeding because that can get messy.
