Pads for street use
more than likely you will have to replace your rotors. i replaced my stockers at about 45k and there was a large lip on the outside edge. i tried to resurface them and take as little as possible off and run them but after a week they were already warped with normal driving. there is really no saving them. but good luck
G/L.
Hawk Performance Ceramics are very clean - but like all Ceramics are more designed to give decent braking and low NVH. They pretty much do that.
Hawk HPS are friction wise similar to stock - maybe a bit less - and cleaner. (In this case the stock pads aren't bad - just $$$ and dirty - for most cars HPS is a step up in friction). Again - they pretty much do that.
Hawk HP+ or DS2500's are higher friction street brakes with a noticeable increase in bite and fade resistance - similar dust to stock and some chance for noise at times. You will not want to go back to street pads after running these unless you don't use your brakes in which case you shouldn't have bought these.
For EVO's - almost any pad can be noisy - and it is difficult to defeat. That must be due to the system in general as even Cermic pads can be noisy.

Hawk HPS w/ Stoptech slotted rotors. Its been about 4k miles so far, and the the only noise I have ever heard is early in the morning, cold outside, and Im creeping out of my driveway (sloped), lightly pressing the brake pedal.
I think lack of a proper bed-in procedure is the fault for most of the noisy complaints.
just my .02
