Bad break squeeking!!!!! needs to stop HELP

Ok so I baught new slotted and drilled rotors with Axxis ceramic pads about a month ago now...And ever since day one, they have sqeeked, at first everone said.they need to be broken in..duh..so I did..and a month later I finally decided to go to a shop..which they told me I needed to rotors and pads..I just laughed cause I said you idiot i just bought them...So Im guessing it might be the pads...The rotors look compltely fine..just a little rough when im doing around 80 on the highway and brake..shakes slightly..I have done everything...brake quiet ****, cleaned em extra good..lubed them...

HELP!! its soooooo bad right now..getting on my last nerve!

You feel a vibration at 80 or so mph when braking? Normal or aggressive? That should not happen especially since you just picked them up new. Are you sure your rotors did not need to be turned prior to installation? I purchased Racing Brakes slotted rear rotors and they did not have to be turned prior to installation and all is good to this day. New OEM rotors were put up front after severe cracking and they turned them prior to putting them on .... i would look into that especially with the vibration you are referring too.

Squeeking? Thats the nature of these performance brakes especially with aftermarket pads etc....there are ways to quiet them down I've read, but I'll let someone else comment on that as I have little experience with squeeky brakes as mine do not squeek with Hawk HPS pads all around.

Goods luck and let us know if the squeeking stops and how you fixed that.

Well the vibration is not really aggressive...its more just when driving on the highway....and the squeeky is only when I am slowing down almost to a complete stop..not while on the highway..just ex: when i am coming to a stop light, and am going hmm about 5-10 mph...really slowly...its a loooooong sqeek

Bed your pads to help the shake. Your squeeking is normal from how you describe it.

I just put aftermarket pads and turned my rotors 3 weeks ago and I have the squeek. Especially during soft braking coming to a stop going slow. Everyone says its the nature of these high performance pads and my buddies does it to so about the squeel I'm pretty sure thats what it is.

That is pretty common with the squeeking when applying normal breaking pressure and coming to a slow stop......some get away lucky and have no squeeking with aftermarket brake parts...don't ask me why but some just do....many more experience your situation...I've experienced this before (minus vibration) in previous cars.....annoying i know. I either came to a stop quicker (applying more braking force) or just lived with it....

Sometimes mine squeek sometimes but I noticed it happens more during cooler weather. I havent had the car in winter yet so I dont know if they squeek in cold weather. Also after I wash the car when the rotors start to form that rust color due to the water, it would squeek untill the rust is worn off (after braking).

And when the occasional squeeks happen, they are only during light braking going 5-10 mph max.

So my point in this occasional squeeking is normal, but the vibration I'm not sure about.

On a side note, since bedding in the brakes require a huge amount of space with no traffic (in which public roads or highways dont always offer). Cant we just drive with our foot on the brakes and acceleration pedal? Basically similar to brake boosting... Shouldnt that be the same thing as accelerating and braking etc.. etc.. 10 times...

vibration on the highway could maybe be a bad wheel hub bearing. Did it do it before the brake change?

Did you make sure you used the OEM shims? Did you lube all contact points with hi temp grease? If you live anywhere near Baltimore I could check them out for you. I use hawk HPS and they screeched pretty bad until they wore in.

Interestingly enough my buddys VIII squeels regularly, but my IX doesn't. Although, I do a lot of threshold breaking trying to get to a corner in a hurry. I have not changed my pads yet though.

I installed HAWK HPS pads and bedded them in quite aggressively. They still squeaked. Yes, I installed the factory shims correctly and used the graphite lube on the sliding surfaces. I bought the rubber backed shims that Girodisc sells and the squeak has pretty much disappeared. I only hear it once in a while when backing up and braking. I don't know if it was the fact that they wore in, or that the shims helped.

I had the same problem, I was lucky enough to have mitsu replace both the pads and rotors. However the problem did come back. I was able to get the sqeek to go away by doing some really hard breaking. As for the vibration, I still cant figure that out. IM not sure if im im warping the rotors or what. Im not doing any thing that would be abusive though. You would think these brembos and rotors would be a bit more aggressive for the style of driving this car is designed for.

The interesting thing is you are having this issue with upgraded rotors and pads? I was going to do the same by upgrading hoping they would go away. Guess theres something else going on here.

Sorry about youre breaks.... Im sure the sqeek will go away as they get used more.

I could be wrong about this, but my brakes (stock rotors w/ stock pads) squeak like crazy after a lot of brake dust hast buit up. Slotted rotors will break you pads down even quicker meaning more brake dust. I would think it is just all that brake dust collecting. But that is my theory...

Where did you get the rubber backed shims?? Cause i was thinking maybe it could be the pads...and just buy non ceramic pads..because now its starting to sound like metel against metel!! I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE..and like when your outside of the car...its even worse! I feel bad for people at stop lights!..I didnt spend 500$ to have this problem..

Yeah i have the same problem so i guess i'll chime in too. They squeaked pretty bad when i first bought the car and I just installed Hawk ceramic pads and OMFG! They are SOO loud...its not so bad in the cold but once they're heated up they go off like a horn under slower braking but again when they're pretty heated up they'll squeak at higher speeds too. It seems the harder I brake the less they make noise.

Haven't heard about "bedding" the brakes but maybe I'll try that.

Lemme tell ya... I go to a huge college in Va and when I'm driving around campus trying to look cool... "Squuueeeaaaaakkkkkk" ERGH!!! Even worse when there's a cute chick crossing the road...lol... at this point... I'm embracing the Seal that lives in my wheels! lol!
