Body roll

Hi,
I have been driving my evo for 1000 miles now and I think I would like to eliminate some body roll. What do you guys suggest? I just don't want to go to extreme and loose the good daily manners of the car. Thanks for your help.

You are right. Today a friend who owns a shop and races several different formulas told me that the best way to go was coilovers. As you say , they are expensive. I will wait until I instal the Buschur stage 1 I just got and use it like that. If in the future I think I still need some more stiffness then I will spend some bucks on coilovers.
Thanks

Springs do help a lot, and are pretty cheap (< $300).

They aren't going to give you near the flexibility and customization options of coilovers; no question about it.

rear sway bar will hands down better your body roll than springs. . .coil overs + sway bar would be the best, since you're changing the valving of the shocks as well. . .

Multipleways to eliminate body roll:
1. Coilovers with stiffer springs
2. Stiffer springs
3. Front and rear sway bars ...

Most people either do Spring upgrades or do coilovers and then sway bar to balance the car.

You could also try the Whiteline front roll-center adjustment kit.

thanks guys for the help. A friend that races was telling me that if I use stiff swaybars it will make the ride a horrible one cause if one tire hits a dip it will transfer the shock to the other side of the car due to the stiffnes of the bars, but if I install coilovers it will absorb the shock and keep the ride a better one plus providing less body roll.
What do you think?

rear sway makes a BIG difference. At least it did for me. and i also got the eibach springs on my MR and the car handles awesome. Plus i got a strut bar in the trunk. Happy with my mods. I just did not want to go with coilovers yet cos i want to take the life out of the bilsteins first.

I cringe when I see people say "and the car handles awesome." Eibach springs are not any good for the Evo, and mating them with a rear sway is definitely not a way to make the Evo handle "awesome." Technically, it already handles "awesome" from the factory, so I guess you can get away with saying your springs+RSB do, too, but it's nothing like a PROPER setup with coilovers and matched spring rates.

Do you have specific lap times or race results that confirm your setup handles awesomely? Remember that your subjective "feel" likely does not translate to true improvement in terms of handling. Often times, people just feel the car being looser in the rear and think that means it handles well, but it doesn't.

Also, a rear strub bar does nothing, because we don't have rear struts. It's strictly a cosmetic mod. Why would you want to "take the life out of" your Bilsteins? You're saying you want to blow your shocks? You could have sold them for $600, and coilovers only cost $800.

Warrtalon,
What set of coilovers do you suggest? I don't race at all, I will probably hit the track twice a year and just for fun. I basically drive fast while comuting and a nice setup would be very welcomed. I have no problem investing top dollars for the setup if it is worth doing so, but probably you will say that since I don't race I don't really need the fancy coilovers and I will agree. So which do you think will be a good set to go with?
Thanks for the help everyone.

Plain ole Megan Streets for around $800. That is not "top dollar," but it's more valuable than slapping on springs and a sway bar, and they will allow you to set them up as aggressively (or not) as you want.

This is certainly not true....swaybars have much less impact on ride quality compared to coilovers. The only time you notice a difference in terms of ride quality is on uneven pavement, and even then it's not much. With coilovers, uneven pavement is still harsh, but so are the bumps you take head on.
