tire wear

hey all, uh, i have about 2400 miles on my evo and the tires seem to show some wear. i know the tread rating is 150, so i am not expecting much. does anyone know the life expectency of the tires? and if anyone has replaced the tires, what are you running. was thinking of BFG g-force KDW or dunlops of some sort.

thanks.

Get an alignment if you have not done so as yet. Mine were toast at 4500 miles mostly due to the .69" of toe on the front.

i got my alignment appointment on thursday at carmax, laurel... the mitsu rep there said that on the evo's the alignment is covered...till a certain mileage. i got 2500, and he said i'm still covered so... i'd recommend getting it done.

not too impressed with the yokos in rain, that is why i am thinking pilot sports $$$ or BFG g-force KDW. i will give up some dry weather performance for some better wet weather. rain + evo= handful.

thanks for any additional info.

hey, did mitsu cover a new set for fronts, because, i mean, come on, 2600 miles and they are cupping? i will attempt to get them covered by warranty.

cheers

All depends how you drive. FYI i'm putting new tires at just under 7k miles. The tires you've listed does not grip as well your OEM's. I'm going for Falken Azenis and if they are unbarable in noise or water i'm going back to advan 046's for the street.

Oh yeah if you drive semi hard just swap your front and rear rims/tires. It'll flat out the cupping. I've already rotate my tires 5 times.

i do a lot of highway cruising, and some spirited back road running, but hell, i need some more tire wear then what i am seeing so far. i know, i know, hi perf car/tires what do you expect. maybe 10k miles? so the bfg g-force kdw or mich pilots are gonna be a choice to see the diff in wear/performance. if there is a huge diff in handling, i may switch back.

thanks.
