Getting an Alignment

I hear that most Evo's are off alignment from factory. How do I go about to get it checked under warranty? Do I just take it to the dealer and tell him to perform one for free, just because you guys said so? What if it wasn't off alignment to begin with?

Just tell the dealer the car doesnt go straight or doesnt behave the same when cornering left or right or that it doesnt feel right and that they should check the alignment. If they find the alignment to be out, it should be for free, and if it's spot on you'll have to pay for it. That said, chances of it being spot on are relatively small. I dont know if strictly speaking they could not charge you for the alignment anyway based on factory alignment tolerances that they probably have somewhere and could point you to. But that would not be good business practice, would it?

Factory setting alignment tolerances for US Evo (from the online service manual) are:

Front toe: 0 +/- 2 mm
Rear toe-in: 3 +/- 2 mm

Front camber: -1 degree +/- 0.5 degree, or -2 degree +/- 0.5 degree (selectable with eccentric bolt), difference between wheels less than 0.5 degree

Rear camber: -1 degree +/- 0.5 degree, difference between wheels less than 0.5 degree

Steering angle, inner wheel: 31.75 degree +/- 1.5 degree
