I have $600 for all new rotors and pads all around! IM just trying to get some more ideas of what to get since some of you may have tried diffrent rotors and pads what's the best combo i can get for $600 all around? I dont mind if they are slotted
A little about me/My car
I do a lot of driving about 60 miles a day or more! I do have some fun on the road with other cars from a 10 or 20 roll and so on. I live in the Mountains so there are a lot of windy roads i like to have fun on! I never get my brakes to hot I have never seen them get red or smoke I try not to beat on the car! When I do drive and when radar starts blasting I tend to slam on my brakes and they haven't got me yet!
IM looking for the best setup i can get for 600 and i want little dust and no squeaking Just toss some ideas around and help me come to a conclusion!
Thanks
Tim~

I've never been on the out side of my vehicle when i'm on the brakes hard enough to make them glow either.I never get my brakes to hot i have never seen them get red or smoke
I'm thinking about trying Mu NS pads next.
I've heard hawks are good but the put off alot of dust (ive never tried them though)

Ferodo 2500's, standard 1 piece replacment rotors, new fluid & some SS Brake lines if you have enough $ left over.
try PMing a few vendors with what your looking for & have to spend, im shure someone will do a package deal for you

^Yeah Why? Care to explain? Most race cars on any category use slotted rotors, why not us?

The main original purpose of slotted and cross-drilled rotors was to vent gases that buildup between the pads and the rotors. However, this reasoning is no longer valid. As the years have gone by pads have been designed that produce very little gas. A slotted or drilled rotor decreases the rotors capability to dissipate heat amongst itself making it more prone to failure (Cracking). Plus they just wear your pads out faster. If anything go with bigger standard rotors.

If you are looking to just upgrade for street use and ocassional track use, the stock rotors and hawk HPS are fine, for more serious track day, I would upgrade to Performance friction PF97 race compound.

CBRicahrd- Up here we have some nice roads that are more like a track and i have pushed some cars to the point where the brakes were glowing red and the pads were on fire! The brake lines were boiling! here is a bad pic of the rotors glowing red after 1 pass on the road its only about 1 1/2 miles long

As for the others i really never see the track haven't gone there yet! I just want good brakes that will last me and still can take a little beating once in a while. I don't beat on the evo only a leased 2007 honda civic si
my main point im looking for is the pads dont make noise or have a lot of dust and will stop the car on the highway not on the track

Hawk HPS pads are pretty good for the street. If you really don't like break dust then stay away from Ferrodo ds2500 pads. It's not that hard to clean off but its a *****. Stoptech rotors aren't bad, they're pretty good for the money. If you do slam on your breaks a lot, and you're running more than stock power, HPS might be borderline ok. I would recommend something like the HPS+ if you do a lot of windy roads and hard stops.
I'm running DBA4000 rotors all around and Ferrodo DS2500 pads. They seem a bit more soft when compared to the HPS+ but they don't exactly eat the rotor away as quickly either. That also really depends how hard you are on ur breaks.
If you want you can try to contact Phil at 201motorsports, i know he has some pads pads and rotors in stock. He's a great guy to deal with! I get all my parts from him.

dont get slotted, tehyre worthless, they just take the life of your pads and cut it in half. oh noes! its not worth it to have "the look" unless youre a ricer. stoptechs are good (i have their two pice front rotors), and I would reccommend you use Hawk ceramic's. They are great street pads, barely dust at all, and still stop very well for a performance ceramic pad. I personally use HP+'s but those dust like crazy.
i emailed 201motorsports and I hope he gets back to me asap! IF anyone has a better setup for 600 get back to me asaP! I need them By friday!
