Replacing a pair of tires

I have 2003 Evo, recently had one wheel damaged and insurance company has agreed to change wheel and tire. But they won't change the Tires as a pair.

I can't find my owners manual, so I don't know if it says in there that changing ONE tire is a BAD thing. If it does I can send this to the insurance company boneheads and hope they change their minds.

Could someone check their owner's manual and see if it says anything about this ?

Or does anyone know of any letter / reference from Mitsubishi saying you DO NOT change only one tire on an Evo ?

I've seen Neil's sticky thread about changing tires on a AWD vehicle, but it only has references from Porsche? Audi etc.

Anybody help me out ?

TIA

get the tire store to write a letter explaining how uneven tread wear can be dangerous or go stab all the others and say it must have been vandilised lol

Are you saying even though your friend showed the Insurance company the Owner's manual recommending changing all / a pair of tires. They still turned your friend down ?

What Insurance company was it ?

TIA
