All possible sway bar options...what are they

We are trying to figure out what is going to be the best option for sway bars for the project evo and trying to lay out all the options. This is what I know so far with sizes in mm

Front
Cusco 21, 25
Tanabe 25.4
Swift ?
Whiteline 26
Kansai Service ? adj
Robi
H&R 25mm adj

Rear
Cusco 18,23 adj
Hotchkis 24 hollow adj
Perrin 25 adj
Tanabe 22
RRE 25
Swift ?
Agency Power 27 adj
Progress 22,25,27 adj
Whiteline 24 adj
Kansai Service ? adj
Robi
H&R 27mm adj

Any help filling in the list would be appreciated

Whiteline is 26mm front fixed.

Swift doesn't advertise their sizes.

Robi has some new front and rear bars out now too, not sure of the sizes, but IIRC they were pretty good.

What kind of spring rates are you running and tire size/type?

We are messing around with spring rates and valving, but currently, 275 nt-01 on a 9.5 wheel w/ ohlin R&T coilovers custom valved with 800/800lb springs. We are currently seeing too much roll out of the front end, so we are look to possible go down in spring rates, at least in front, and add sway bars

What are you trying to build it for? The autocrossers are using about 550F / 650-750R spring rates. Don't know what the road race guys use, but Robispec is the place to go for a track setup.

How much drop do you have in the suspension? Lowering makes body roll worse in the Evo. Do the Whiteline roll center correction kit to help with the front roll. And while you're at it do the bump steer correction kit to firm up the back end so the thing doesn't wallow around so much in the turns.

Been through countless setups, adjustments, springs rates, etc. Yes, we need the roll center kit, but even so, with the current level of the car, we still need an all around stiffer sway bar set and to lower the super high springs rates especially in the front. We along with m,any other road racers are finding that the stock front sways just dont cut it at a certain level. So we jsut want to know exactly what all the options are so we can select the setup that will work best for us.

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest you don't need sways. I was just tossing out some ideas.

Ralliart Italy has some interesting bars...pricey, but interesting:

http://www.ralliart.it/Ralliart%20It...high%20res.pdf

They have 26mm & 29mm front bars and 24mm & 27mm rear bars.

Also, Do Luck has/had a 27.5 mm front, I think it may have been hollow (the link I had for it is dead).

I also think the Tanabe bars may be hollow as the descriptions for them mention inside and outside diameters.

For the HKS Kansai Service, I found this description on 500whp.com:

Front 2 Way Adjustable 25mm Sway Bar
Soft Setting: 120% Increase Stiffness
Hard Setting: 135% Increase Stiffness

Rear 3 Way Adjustable 24mm Sway Bar
Soft Setting: 135% Increase Stiffness
Medium Setting: 163% Increase Stiffness
Hard Setting: 200% Increase Stiffness

What's the balance of the car like? Understeer, oversteer, neutral?

I want to add that my Whiteline 24mm rear bar did not come with new mounting brackets so I guess the stock ones are supposed to be reused. I haven't been able to get the old one off yet (check my thread in this section for more details please), but I'll post back once I've gotten the bar installed.

I'm thinking of adding a large front sway bar as well. Anyone know if the 27mm front is too big?

I think a front sway bar will help with adding more grip, because by adding just a rear hotchkis bar set at medium, the Evo had less grip. It was faster at the softest setting.

I know a lot of people keep saying don't do the front bar, but I think for an advanced driver that can dive deep into a corner trailbraking, it would make the Evo much faster.

Whiteline does make some, adjustable lenght too so they're great for cornerbalancing cars with coilovers.
