Bilsteins + Tanabe springs= ??????

I have heard of some people running this setup but i have also heard of other springs not recommended for the bilsteins because they will cause them to fail. Is this true for the Tanabe springs? I have a set of bilsteins in my garage and my stock shocks with the springs on them.

Tanabe GF 120 is a garbage spring, my dad had them on his car, non-bilstein 03 and it was tooo low, handling suffered the only positive was it looked good while standing still.

?

I thought it was ok to not-like ebay FMIC's? Am I wrong?

I'm not going to start a ebay FMIC pissing contest but the long and the short of it is, Heatsoak>ebay FMIC's.

Real cores actually keep cooling the intake charge while the ebay will get hot very quickly.

Tell you what.

Go bolt your car on a dyno do a pull.

Do 5 more then tell me how much power you drop on your 6th pull.

Your ebay special doesnt hurt your ideal condition numbers, but when its hot, or you have done multiple pulls, or a combination of the two you are making less power than you could be.

My friend has an AMS core and the only way we can tell who's is different after a couple of races is that his has writing on the core. They do the same ****.

That sounds like a highly scientific test you have there.

If ebay ic's were good why wouldnt everybody run them hahaha.

I would say 60% of evo's are. For $127 shipped it has been one of the best mods yet.

To contribute to the offtopic discussion:
Yes it is possible to make decent power and put down a good 1/4 time with the eBay core. Tons of people around here have them, and so everyone think they are the "same" as the AMS and Buschur units.
But Skorke is referring to a different set of numbers, i.e. FMIC heatsoak temps, which in the end affect intake air temps, too high of which can contribute to detonation, defeating the purpose for a FMIC in the first place.,

It's been proven through as valid or much more valid testing and data than "my engine makes XXX hp/XXX" drag slip/hasn't blown up yet" to suffer severely when using the eBay cores as a result of heatsoak. Search around and you shall see...

Anyway, to get back on topic: I assume you are referring to the factory MR Bilsteins, not the HD replacements?
