Hawk HPS Brake pads are squeaking.
Skipped to the end so if it was covered sorry. Have the box right here have not put them on yet.
Burnishing Instructions
1 After installing new pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph
applying moderate pressure.
2 Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.
3 DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
4 Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.
5 After step4 your new pads are ready for use.
Word for word
Almost all pads get glazed and squeek, best way 30mph in reverse and power stop will
usually unglaze in my experiance

Peeling the fiber shims off the OE pads and reusing them with some anti-squeal compound has always worked for me. The Hawk pads are my favorite replacement pad for those wanting just an OE type replacement. Next step up is the Ferodo DS2500s. If not installed correctly, or if the rotor is not cleaned when going from a different compound type, just about ANY pad can be noisy.
My Hawk HPS started to squeak after i went to track for a full day. I was told that those pads squeak at low speeds braking.
This pads started to fade towards the end of the day at the track. I really didn't expect that only after 1 day of track event. I had to use them because they were the only things available the night before track. I was told to try using Performance friction (compound 97) next time.

WD40, you've got to be kidding. You think Hawk pads squeal, you should try the Project Mu Level Max 900's... people and dogs all around cringe and folks in front of you at lights look up in terror in their mirrors thinking you're gonna rear-end them - that's race pads for ya.
Give them time to break in, a lot of the pads have a break-in material on them which takes a while to wear off.
