Question Factory brake cooling

I checked around and was unable to find any photos of the optional brake cooling feature offered by Mitsubishi. Is it just a hose type thing?

Anyone have this kit and/or any photos?

I just bought it today for 115. Will be installing it next week and let you know how hard it was to do.

Someone uploaded a pic of the brake cooling guides somewhere. Its a piece of plastic that allows airflow to cool the brakes. Its hard to see unless your under the car.

Not if you track your car 1 or 2 times a month. I don't want to have to make something.

I plan on getting them when I get my EVO. If you look at the online EVO VII brochure (the one in .pdf format), in the brake section, there is a good picture of a two piece duct system. I assume it's the same one on the EVO 8.

i agree if you are doing heavy track use, these would be a good idea... otherwise it's just a conversation piece...

My $.02 is anyone who takes their car to that track ever will benefit from them. Especially the lesser experienced drives. They tend to be the ones who use the brakes the most.

Even on the street, better cooling just means improved longevity.

I have it installed but dont know how it compares to an evo without one. I dont have any probs braking but then again I havent had the need to use the brakes so much with all the downshifting I do.

seems from some of the more experienced drivers that these are a waste of money because if you track real hard they get destroyed. perhaps someone will make aluminum pieces, but for sure fabbed ducting is the best idea.
