Found some information on Tenzo wheels

Hey guys,

So I didn't know that the Advan brand of wheel was manufactured by Enkei. Once I found that out and did some research on it--learned a lot, and so I decided to find out about my girlfriend's wheels, the Tenzo R brand.

Previously I had been told by one of their reps that their wheels were also made by Enkei. I called back again and spoke with another rep who said he thinks that the manufacturer might also make wheels for Enkei. With my newfound information I explained that Enkei themselves are a global wheel manufacturer that makes wheels for other people...not the other way around. He then stated that the company that they get their wheels from is named "Lenso". I asked about the wheel forming technology used--and he wasn't sure but thought it was low pressure casting...

Found a couple websites for them:

U.S. Site

Main Factory in Thailand

It looks like that manufacturer is pretty commonly used with high-end luxury type vehicles...and that Tenzo is a subsidiary re-brand marketed to the tuner crowd.

Just thought I'd share....

"a... sophistaceded desire to strive for only the highest quality..."
Apparently this doesn't apply to their English or website. that kind of word abuse is "what no to write on your resume/term paper" material.

And for all these years I though Tenzo was crap.

I guess I am still right. Still just another ricer brand that outsources production to a budget blinger brand.

One could say the same of you. Typos happen--and the frequency of the occurance has more to do with the web designer than the wheel manufacturer I would think.

They get their wheels from a lesser known manufacturer based out of a non-japanese plant. So what? Why not try and do some research on their manufacturing methods, quality control programs, or the failure rate for the wheel itself? I think those would be more reliable sources than the grammatical content of their website.

Same thing for Rota, and any other non-japanese brand of wheel. I myself kept and open mind about Rota for example; I did the research, even ordered a set to look at for myself up close. Decided against it. But I did the research and used impirical data instead of mere rumors, or heresay, or the mob mentality.

Touche, touche haha. The difference is, I didn't hit a key hard enough at the end of a word, not a glaring typo that indicates that I have absolutely no clue how to spell a word I am trying to use to make myself sound more sophisticated. It was just very ironic in the context, and was more than just the typo, but the "blah, big misspelled words about trying to sound expensive, blah."
No worries, I was just having fun with it, I don't really care that much.

HAHAHA! Touche' touche' touche'.

See? What'd I tell you?! I totally forgot to type a word! But the good thing is that no one can say I mispelled it!

Seriously, though, it's good that you are looking into this type of stuff. It can shed a lot of light on the industry and what you are paying for.

That's what I was thinking and why I did it. After I found out that my Advan's were built by Enkei (and after being pleasantly surprised with Enkei's tilt GDC+MAP/MAT technology) figured it should be easier to find out who REALLY makes what and how...strictly for the sake of the saying "buyer beware".

I just hope this helps someone. Not saying that these wheels are good or bad, just that I hope the information helps someone to make their decisions. My girlfriend's wheel quality looks ten times better than the ROTA's though...FWIW.
