hawk hps brake pads

just purchased a set of hawk hps front brake pads for my VIII. these will be used just for street driving and possible a small amount of auto-x before i do a brake upgrade. anyone have any feedback or have used these before. i had them on my civic si and really liked them so i'm hoping they will feel good on the evo.

I have these on my IX and wish I went with something else. If you drive your EVO like a GEO, they'll be fine.

Ill be honest, had them on my IX, mountain driving/track days with medium braking and some autocross plus street and they were horrible, really bad pad transfer and not much feel. I went with Ferodos 2500's from EVOBRAKES and my god what a difference. I would not recommend the HPS to anyone unless they were just extremely cheap. The Ferodos have instant bite and heat did not seem to affect them of course they are dusty, no more so than the Hawks, but cant have it all.

Once bed-in HPS pads should be fine for street driving. Ferodo 2500 is regarded as an upgrade; however noisier. Don't forget to bleed the system using DOT-4 fluid.

Have used them a few times before myself with no complaints. Didn't hold up well at the track, but should be fine for street driving and short auto-x events.

I have HPS pads and have no complaints. They bite harder than the stockers and I havn't experienced any fade. I use it for solely for street with occasional spirited mountain driving and I've been pleased, plus the price wasn't bad compared to upgraded models.

I have them. They were very noisey at first but have since calmed down. Initial bite is not as good as stock but modulation is very good. Way less dust than stock... Not a bad pad for street driving.

I have daily driving for over a year and am satisfied with them as a replacement for my stock pads, especially for the price, which literally could not be beat by anything else worth using. They are not road racing pads by any means, but my ears, rotors, and wallet don't want them to be. They do ok until I am really driving extremely hard, but I think the main cause for the loss of brake performance I am seeing under those conditions is because I need to bleed my brakes with some new fluid.

the "S" in HPS is for "street" obviously. its a decent street pad thats cheap and usable for auto-x's if on street rubber.

My friend had these on his 9 and said they were the worst pads he ever bought. He took them off after a week and bought a set of 2500's, these, he said are the best pads he has ever used.
