How is this wheel?

17 x 8.0, 5X114.3, 38
Would this perfectly fit the EVo?
Clear the front calipers?

Who has them for a good price?

nice looking wheel... not sure how the fitment would be though... you'll have to get a template of the backspacing...

just from looking at it though, it should be ok, as the spokes flare out towards the outside of the rim, and not inside...

Because of the high level of caliper extension, some wheels will require a small spacer to make them work. The dimensions seem correct, but I would double check what hardware is included with the wheels prior to ordering. I do not carry that specific wheel, however, I do carry a similar one from SSR called the GT-1 . Fitments would start at 18"

GT-3 Wheel

don't use spacers... just get wheels that fit...

not wheels that you can "make fit"...

That's nice but most of the wheels that fit, look like crap or cost way too much!
Just to "school me" a little, What would be wrong with using the spacers?
Thanks!

There are advantages and disadvantages of using spacers. The question is, what is your idea of a spacer? Some people use crazy 1"-2" spacers to really push the wheels outward which causes lots of strees on lugs, studs, the wheels etc. With wheels like the GT-1 or Speedline 2211, you only need a 3-5mm spacer to help push the wheel outward to clear the brakes. A spacer of this thickness will not cause any fit or driveability problems. You will also need to make sure the correct lug hardware is included. This way, you have the correct amount of engagement with lugs to studs.

Yokohama wheels do not need spacers to fit the evolution. Most will fit if you get the right offset and size, Neal why doesn't the tire rack get the right offsets to allow use without spacers. I realize some wheels are a no go because of the spoke designs. Here are the SSR Type-C with the right offsets and no spacers 17x8.5 +30MM. When use spacers your adding unsprung weight which is what you are trying to lower with adding wheels.

We have found that some of the SSR's purchased directly from Japan do not meet North American D.O.T standards. Only the wheels purchased through the Tire Rack have been made special for the US market. This is probably the reason why you do not see the Gold Type-C w/out a spacer available for your car on our site.

I've seen lots of discussions of larger / wider / "prettier" rims, but what about winter? 235 width is a bit much for snow.
Anyone have a lead on a 17x7 or so rim that would let the EVO run 215/50 winter tires (e.g.LM22s)?
