Effects of coilovers on drivetrain?

Ok i'm strongly considering purchasing coilovers for my car, have want to do so for awhile. My car is basically stock besides a catback and I still get warranty work done when needed. I will be purchasing a set of Tein Flex's for my car. I don't want the slammed look, i'm more going for the moderate functional drop. Not to mention that I have heard great things about this setup and many say it rides better than stock.

My question is will having a lowered suspension have any bad effects with the drivetrain. I have heard horror stories that tranmission shops love lowered car because the damage it does. I don't know what damage it could do but maybe it has to do with ball joints, wheel bearings, and bushing. However I could not see it hurting the actual drivetrain.

Any input would be appreciated!

I see no correlation between the two whatsoever.
