GTR Face?

What is it excatly? I did a search for this but only came up with ppl selling or talking about advan wheels.

I know that it has something to do with the way it looks, but what is excatly different?

Links or pics would be nice, or just an explantion.
I'll be looking to buy some RG-IIs in the near future and just want to know if this is something I need to make sure that the wheels have or not.
Thanks

look at the shape of an advan rs, it is a perfect example, the rims are made to fit over a set of large brakes, such as those on a gtr

Yeah I see how they look like they arch around, but does that mean that the Advan RS also come non GTR face? When ordering from speedelement, there is no option for this...

It's basically the concave shape of the wheel to help fit over enormous calipers and rotors.

you can get a rg II with a +35 offset (non-gtr face) or a +29 offset (gtr face)

the +29 is more likely to cause rubbing issues with tires

I believe the GTR Advan RS have to have a ofset +29 or lower to be considered GTR face. Anything higher then +29 and they are not.

Correct. The "non gtr" face isnt concaved. The +29 will fit without worries, plenty of people can prove that on this board. Why are you set on Advans though? There just a cast wheel, with the pricetag around that of a forged Volk, or forged Work wheel... You can get much higher quality wheels in that price range.

Well I first seen the RS wheels in gold on my friend's 09 WW. I could not stop looking at his car. Then I went online and found the RG-II, which I love just as much.
I want the wheels in super black chrome and I think that the RS in chrome is too much chrome for my apex silver. So I'm going with the RG-IIs. I want them in 18x 9.5 but then I'd have to get new tires to fit them, where as I could get them in 17" and transfer the rubber I have now, just afarid that I'm going to pay all that money and not be happy with the size...

So to answer your question about why I want these when there are better wheels out there, is because I like the way they look, thats it I guess...

So, I can get the RG-IIs in either 17x9 +29 OR 18x8.5 +31 OR 18x9 +29 and not have to worry about spacers or rubbing issuse?

If you like the RG-II's you could always go with the Rota Boost's...look the same and they are a 1/3 less in price.

I hate the term "GTR face"...who started calling them this? I'd like to strangle them. Just call them concave!

I hate both of those terms GTR-faced and concave. It's technically convex …

The Rota boost may look alike, but they do not look the same! They don't arch out like the advan wheels do.
