I'm on Kuhmo ecsta MX and they are pretty good, not as sticky as stock but still not bad.

The MXs are ok, however, they have a pretty dated tread design/compound. I'm not a big fan of the KDW2s at all. My choice would be the Bridgestone RE01-Rs as they are one of, if not, the best street tires out there. There have been good things said about the Z1s too in recent months. If you want a good tire you're going to have to pay. I see too many Evo owners buying cheap tires. It's really a shame as tires are probably your single most important "mod" (besides the driver mod of course haha). After all, your tires are the only things that make you go turn and stop.

+1 Until I got to the very last post, I was wondering why no one mentioned the Potenzas. These are definitely my tire of choice. Mated, of course, with the Potenza Pole Positions for the all season (for wet and light snow) parts of the year

The OP stated that he did not want to spend more than $650 on tires, so that's why the Bridgestones have not been mentioned. And I think that a good street tire can be had for what the OP wants to spend. Anything more and you should spend it on R-Comps. Just my opinion though so don't flame me for it.
