Sticky Tires

okay.. first off. i have a 9 gsr ,stock rims and i want new tires...stock advans are good but they didn't last much. got me some rt615s and lasted me about 25,000 miles. i want some new tires that will last me about 20ish,000 miles but that are very sticky..

-not willing to spend more than 650

keep in mind.. this
want most try traction performance
dont care for wet traction.. as long as they can compater to my rt 615s in the rain in southern cali
i dont care for how loud they are..
i drag alot
i do canyon runs..

now which tires would your recommend for me

No such tires exist that meet your criteria. If you want max dry grip, you're not going to get mileage out of them. They're also not cheap. So either deal with less mileage and higher costs, or go with something that has less grip.

+1 ya you'd be lucky to find any kind of decent tires for 575 let alone good ones

There is no magic tire that gives you high mileage AND high grip AND equal wet grip...it's always a trade-off.

Although I must admit that the BFG R1 slicks that I ran last year lasted WAY longer than I expected...several months actually. Not bad for a treadwear rating of 40. My theory is that the tires stuck so well, there was less "scrubbing" during hard cornering, therefore less wear.

I think Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 - 245-45-17: $105 a tire might work for you. Only problem is that is the only size they come in for the Evo(At least thats the only size I would put on my car). I know of some peeps using this size tire and don't have any problems. they also do the same type of driving you do. That price is cash pick up though. Give them a call and see what they can do for you. They also carry most other brands as well. You can get them from here:

JLB Motorsports
505 N. Smith Ave
Suite 107
Corona, CA 92880

P951)734-4411
F951)346-3955
AIM: JLB Support *or* DRFlickner

You can also try the new Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1, though last I check from Tire Rack they were sold out of the stock size. BTW the two tires I mentioned also have a 200 tread wear rating, the same as the Falkens you had before.

Mileage depends a lot on your driving. I've never had a set of tires last more than 6000 miles, and I've been through about 20 sets.

Yeah I ran those Hankook R-S2 Z212s and they were awesome for the price. Stuck like RT615s in the dry and did much better in the wet.

KDW2's will put you out of the price range you want to be in. If you want the best dry grip tire for your price range, then the Falkens RT615, Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212, and the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 are the tires you should be looking into. Just my opinion and I have some driving experience with the RT615. Soon to be Hankook R-S2 as well.
